Apple is expanding parental leave and mental health benefits for all of its employees, Fast Company reported. The company is adding new benefits for new parents and is also expanding mental health counseling by providing more coverage which means life at Apple just keeps getting better.
“What we find a lot of times is people are really excited to get back to work. At the same time, they feel like they need to make sure things are really stable and successful at home. And that weighs heavy on people’s minds, I think.”
Apple is adding a new benefit for new parents. Apart from the 16 weeks paid family leave they already get, Apple will also provide a four weeks grace period in which the employees will be paid in full while they’ll have to work part-time only. Employees can also set their own schedules as long as the business needs determined by their supervisor are met.
Apple is also increasing benefits for parents who adopt by extending the family leave by four more weeks and tripling the financial support required for adoption.
The company is also doubling the mental health counseling sessions per year and these benefits will be available for everyone at Apple including the retail team thus making Life at Apple much better.
“I think many times working parents feel like they need to deal with that quietly and make it seem perfectly seamless. We all know life is complicated. So we’re making it really clear that we’re supporting them in that journey.”
