Its been the fate of Samsung that the Korean tech giant has to deal with issues of their newly launched devices. This time there is not one but two Samsung Galaxy devices that are under the heat right now. Banks around the world have removed support for the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10.
Samsung Fingerprint Scanner Issue
If you don’t know about the issue, here’s what’s happening. These two devices come with a built-in fingerprint scanner that has a vulnerability that allows users to unlock the phone even if their fingerprints are not registered. A cheap silicon protector is used to gain access.
Due to this vulnerability banks around the world are removing support for these devices from their apps.
The UK Nationwide Building Society took the first step followed by NatWest. Both these banks have completely removed support for Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10.
The Bank of China, Israel’s Hapoalim Bank, and South Korea’s KaKao Bank have all removed support for both devices.
