Reports as early as 2018 suggested that Apple is discontinuing the 3D touch feature which debuted with iPhone 6s. The only reason Apple is retiring 3D touch seems to be that Apple don’t think it is up to the mark it thought this tech piece would go. Another reason is that this feature is limiting hardware designs for future iPhones not to mention same results can also be derived from the haptic touch feature Apple introduced from iPhone XR.
We’ll all be missing one feature in particular and that is to press down on the keyboard to move the cursor.
Apple is going to unveil the next versions of iOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS in around an hour and we are waiting how Apple is going to use Haptic Touch for different use cases.
